Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Specbench website and to Specbench Cloud, our hosted service (together, "Specbench"). Specbench is provided by Specbench Limited ("we", "us"). By creating a workspace or otherwise using Specbench, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Specbench Cloud is for business use. If you sign up on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it, and "you" means that organisation.

Keep your sign-in details secure and the information in your account accurate. You are responsible for everything done through your workspace, including by the people you invite and the coding agents you connect to it through MCP.

Each new workspace starts with a 14-day free trial, and no card is needed to start it. When the trial ends, the workspace pauses until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted when a trial ends.

• Plans are listed on our pricing page. Solo is a single-seat workspace. Team is charged per seat, and a seat is anyone who signs in to the workspace. Coding agents connected through MCP do not take a seat.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Prices exclude VAT and other applicable taxes, which are added at checkout.
• You can change plan, seat count or billing period at any time. Plan and billing period changes apply from your next renewal.
• We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, and a new price applies from your next renewal after that notice.
• Discount codes apply only on the terms stated with them and have no cash value.

You can cancel at any time. Your workspace stays available until the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed after that. Fees already paid are not refundable, including for part-used periods, except where the law requires otherwise.

If a payment fails and is not resolved, we may pause your workspace until it is.

Your specifications, models and anything else you or your agents put into Specbench ("your content") belong to you. You give us permission to host, process and display your content only as needed to provide Specbench to you, including publishing it to the repositories you connect.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use it. Specbench publishes your current specification to your repository as you configure it, so you keep a versioned copy alongside your code.

After your subscription ends, we keep your workspace data for 30 days so you can reactivate it, and may then delete it.

You must not use Specbench to:

• break the law or infringe anyone else's rights;
• upload malicious code, or try to access accounts, workspaces or systems you are not authorised to access;
• interfere with or overload the service, or work around its usage limits or security;
• copy, reverse engineer or resell the service, except where the law allows it.

Specbench works with services we don't control, such as GitHub, the coding agents and MCP clients you connect, and Stripe. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

We work to keep Specbench available and reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may need to take it offline for maintenance. We improve Specbench continuously and may change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.

We may suspend or close a workspace that breaches these terms, that is unpaid, or that puts the service or other customers at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also stop providing Specbench Cloud altogether with at least 30 days' notice, in which case we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data on this website. Where your content includes personal data, we process it on your behalf to provide Specbench. If you need a data processing agreement, email privacy@specbench.io.

Specbench, including the software, this website, its copy, design and logo, belongs to Specbench Limited. These terms don't give you any rights in it beyond using the service. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Specbench is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties beyond those set out in these terms.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business or data. Our total liability to you under or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If you contact us through the website, we will email you about your enquiry. We may also email account holders about their workspace, billing and changes to Specbench. Marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link.

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects paid customers, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Specbench after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
